All of HighBrow Beauty's brow artists, eyelash extentionists and estheticians are all licensed by the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. They all have at least ten years of experience in the beauty industry and are trained to provide you with the best service, because you deserve the best of the best.  

BOOKING APPOINTMENTS

We strongly recommend that you book an appointment for spa services before coming in. While we welcome walk-ins, it’s impossible to guarantee there will be an opening. Most services can be accommodated with same day appointments, so please don’t hesitate to call or book Online even if it’s at the last minute. We will always try our hardest to fit you in.

* Appointments can be booked 24 hours a day on line by using the “Book online” banner above.

* HighBrow BEAUTY is a small studio, so we encourage you to book your appointment on line by using the link below as we do not have front desk staff. You can book appointments on line 2 hours in advance if they are available.

* MAKE SURE YOU GET AN E MAIL CONFIRMATION of your appointment. If you do not have one, you may NOT have an appointment. Please check your JUNK MAIL if you do not get one in your in box, or / also that you opted in for emails.

* Please note that it can take up to 48 hours to return your call. It is nothing personal- We do care that you called! However, we are a small studio with no front desk staff and our practitioner’s focus is the client we are working with in the moment. Thank you for understanding how we do things!

* We require 24 hour cancellation of appointments or you will be charged 50% of your service.
* If you are late, you maybe asked to resechedule or you will be seen within the remaining time of your appointment and will be charged the full amount.

* Please be aware that we book our brow and Brazilian appointments every 15 min. Please be early or on time to avoid losing your appointment.

Cancellation Policy

Here’s all we ask of you:

  • At least 24-hour notice for cancellations and changes.
  • Show up on time or, better yet, several minutes early to relax and get in the zone.

The second one is where things get tricky. You see, your appointment time is reserved for you and no one else. So when you don’t show up, you miss out, someone else who could have had your spot misses out, and your esthetician misses out. It’s a lose-lose-lose situation for everyone involved. 

Here’s what happens:

  • Same day cancellation and/or rescheduling will be subject to 50% fee based on the type of appointment that was originally booked.
  • If you totally flake and don’t show up at all, we will charge you 100% of the appointment.

Of course we understand that things do come up. So just give us a ring. 
HighBrow Beauty will try to provide all of our clients with a courtesy confirmation email or text to help remind you of your scheduled appointment. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee you will receive these reminders. So please write down your appointment, put it in your phone or tie a string on your finger to help you remember.

EYELASH EXTENSION DO'S & DONT'S

DO

Avoid getting your lashes wet for the first 8-10 hours after application.  Get your shower out of the way before application

Arrive on time and without wearing make-up or contact lenses

Maintain your lashes regularly

Silence your cell phone

Take a little extra care when dealing with your new lashes

Enjoy the attention you’re going to get

Refer your friends

DON’T

Rub, pick or pull on your lashes

Use waterproof mascara, or any cosmetics that contain any glycol-based ingredients

Use oily products near lashes

Accept calls or texts during your procedure.

WAXING DO'S & DONT'S

DO

• If you are having a bikini Wax or Brazilian, trim hair to ½ inch to prevent discomfort.
• You may take 2 Advil (NOT Asprin) ½ hour before waxing if you have a high level of pain.
• Clean and exfoliate area to be waxed before treatment.
• Moisturize and exfoliate waxed areas daily to prevent in-grown hair (not until the next day after waxing).

DO NOT
• Come in for waxing if you are using: Retin-A, Accutane, Blood Thinners, Cortisone, Acne Medication or any other Exfoliates or Hydroxy based products on area to be waxed.
• Have a hot bath or hot tub before or after waxing.
• Use sun bed, sunbathe or go swimming, or apply deodorant for up to 24 hours after waxing.
• Do not shave 2 ½ weeks before a waxing as the hair is very course and might not come out with the wax if it is not long enough

We specialize in brow design and eyelash extensions, but also provide services such as body waxing and facials. We are looking for a talented and experienced eyelash extensionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the following requirements

qualifications

  •  Graduate of esthetics/beauty school, current esthetics license and certification. Sole responsibility of esthetician to update license.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to provide legible communication.
  • Minimum of 3 years practical experience in San Diego.
  • High School Graduate.
  • Impeccably groomed, warm and friendly.

Requirements

  • You MUST be a licensed esthetician or cosmologist .
  • At least 3 years of experience with eyelash extensions (book showcasing your work is a plus).
  • 2 years experience with brow design.
  • Experience with body waxing (experience with Brazilian waxing a plus).
  • Excellent customer service experience is a MUST. (This is crucial, we pride ourselves in giving the best customer service possible, and people love us because of it so we are looking for someone who understands the importance of treating our customers the best way possible).
  •  Must be proficient in facial waxing, as well as body waxing.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate confidence, flexibility and be a team player.
  • Must possess excellent communications skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels and provide excellent customer service, have knowledge of professional spa services and treatments, and have strong retail experience.

  • To recommend a maintenance program and products to be used at home, to give clients instructions on how to use the products to help them obtain and maintain healthy, beautiful skin.
