Micro-Needling

What Is It
Micro-needling, sometimes referred to as the "vampire facial" is a skin rejuvenation treatment where we administer small, controlled, micro-injuries to stimulate the body's wound healing process. This will trigger the skin to release cytokines and growth factors that lead to restoring collagen and elastin. Creating these micro-injuries prompts your immune system to increase blood flow and begin to create new tissue. The newly formed tissue is replaced with stronger collagen, which will create a tightening effect on the skin and reduce the appearance of scars.  Micro-needling is safe for all skin types and colors as the epidermis is not damaged during the treatment. This service can even be used on sensitive and fragile areas that cannot be treated easily in other procedures such as eyes, neck, and back of hands.

This treatment is not safe for clients who have used Accutane within the last three months, have open wounds, cuts or abrasions, have had radiation skin treatment within the last year, are experiencing any skin infections, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have history of keloiding or poor wound healing, and cannot be performed on areas with any stage of skin cancer.

Aftercare
There is no downtime after this service however your skin will remain slightly pink for up to 48 hours. We highly recommend avoiding AHA's (glycolic acid), retinol, or "active" ingredients for 2-3 days to allow maximum healing. Sun exposure is not recommended and we encourage wearing sunscreen for at least 7 days after your service. Sweating and swimming is prohibited for 2-3 days after treatment. Failure to follow these instructions can potentially lead to scarring or hyperpigmentation.
